Williams was selected for the Silver Ferns squad in 2004 and in the following year she made her debut against Barbados in the Caribbean. Williams has grown into a key player for the side and was officially announced as the 23rd Silver Ferns captain in July 2009. Her first match in that role was on August 2009 at the TSB Bank Arena, Wellington, against the World 7.
Her first win as captain came in the 3rd Test at The Trusts Stadium Arena, Auckland. Her first victory as Captain against the Australian Diamonds was in the 1st Test of the 2009 Holden Netball Test Series, in September at Acer Arena, Sydney.
Williams was part of the New Zealand under 21 team which won the 2005 World Youth Championship and won gold with the Silver Ferns at the 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games, a career highlight for the GK.
She also led the Silver Ferns to victory in the inaugural World Netball Series, held in Manchester, England, 2009.
Exceptional elevation, impeccable timing and a never-say-die attitude make Casey Williams one of the most exciting players to watch in world netball.
Williams was named Most Valuable Player of the 2008 ANZ Championship, and third in 2009. This year she has featured well in rebounds, intercepts, and deflections for her Waikato-BOP Magic side.
A versatile player Williams played at both goal defence & goal keeper at the start of her international career, but has consistently filled the goal keep position for the Silver Ferns which she will once again captain the side in this year's World Championships.
