Your Cam - share your videos and pictures with TVNZ
Have you ever witnessed an event you thought others should know about, but there wasn't any time to call reporters and camera crews to the scene?  Unfortunately the rest of New Zealand missed out on the story as no one was there to record it - or was there?

When there's no time to wait, you can record news footage on your digital video camera or phone to send it straight to our reporters at ONE News. Like the footage of the Bali and London bombings and 9/11, pictures you capture may be the only ones taken as the event unfolds, and YOUR CAM is about capturing news as it happens.

ONE News has made it easy for you to send your digital images straight to us.  You can either email it from your phone or attach the files through the links below.

If you don't have a camera handy, you can always call us on 0800 TV NEWS. The information you provide can help us make ONE News your news.

Mobile Phone/Digital Camera Users
Users with mobile phones that are capable of shooting photos or video can email material directly from the phone to yourcam@tvnz.co.nz

Alternatively, you can download your mobile or camera pictures to a computer and send them to us via the links below.

If we require more information, we will call you.

Handy Cam Users
We are able to handle most common file formats, however we do have some preferred standards that make uploading your files easier for both of us.  Our preferred compression settings are Windows Media 9, 640 x 480 with a bit rate of 1 Mb/s.  This gives us a reasonable quality and relatively small file size.  Usually we can't use more than a few minutes of footage, so it's best to send no more than two minute segments.  The more material you try to send, the larger the file and the longer it will take to upload to us.

Tips & Hints
If you have any trouble emailing us, or with the links below, please call us on 0800 TV NEWS and let us know.

If you'd like some tips on editing and compressing your footage, visit mediacollege.com .  This site has a mass of information for all skill levels and includes everything from Audio to video and has user forums for the real enthusiast.
