Three people have been taken to hospital with burns after a fire at an Auckland factory.

Firefighters were called to the Pacific Coil-Coaters plant on Great South Road in Penrose at 2.15pm.

They say the fire was out when they arrived, possibly thanks to sprinklers, but three workers had burns.

Pacific Coil-Coaters produces coloured metal roofing and cladding products.
