Woman hospitalised after bike fall

A 33-year-old woman has been flown to hospital after falling off her bike onto a gravel road near Blenheim.

She was part of a group of 10 cyclists on a four day trip to Hamner.

The Summit Rescue Helicopter says two local women found the injured cyclist and phoned for an ambulance.

She suffered moderate to serious facial injuries, and lacerations and grazes to the rest of her body.
