Police have revealed a woman has been arrested after a joint Police and Customs operation following the seizure of six kilograms of the party drug BZP at Auckland airport in the past few months.
The 38-year-old from Palmerston North has been charged with importing the drug and is due in court on Wednesday.
Police believe the BZP was imported from China and has a street value of around $180,000.
Detective Sergeant Phil Skoglund says it's a timely reminder that party pills are now classified as Class C controlled drugs and the amnesty for their possession is now well and truly over.
The woman is to appear before the Palmerston North District Court on Wednesday.
The two seizures at Auckland Airport were made on 13 August and
26 October.
