The man charged with murdering a Tawa woman has been remanded until the new year.
Ernest Smith, 38, was charged with murdering Amanda Taufale after her body was found in her home on Sunrise Boulevard in the Wellington suburb of Tawa.
Her two sons, one aged 15 years and the other 6 months, were with her when police arrived.
He has not asked for bail or name suppression. He was in a relationship with Taufale.
Porirua District Court judge John Walker has suppressed any images of Smith after declining media applications for cameras in court. He remanded Smith in custody until January for a plea evaluation hearing.
The judge also amended the charge to change the date from November 15 to November 14.
Smith's lawyer Barbara Hunt said she was still receiving disclosure of information from police.
Police are not seeking anyone else in connection with the crime.
Smith's car - a late model blue Toyota Corolla hatchback, was found abandoned in the car park of the nearby Takapu Rd railway station and was the subject of a crime scene examination.
