New Zealand's biggest football match in nearly 30 years is about to take place in Wellington on Saturday night, when the All Whites play Bahrain - and the capital is in the grip of football fever with the arrival of the Bahrainian side.

Some very loyal Bahrain supporters have flown a very long way for the match. But while there is a bit of Bahrain in New Zealand, there was also a bit of New Zealand touching down with their team, with Sarah Eddy, a New Zealand flight attendant for Gulf Air, arriving on Thursday.

"I'm very honoured to be on (the plane) because I'm the only New Zealander to be chosen," she says.

Although she was not so welcome at team training.

"I was told to get out because ... I could be sending all the game plans to our boys," she says.

With every seat sold out at the stadium it is thought to be the biggest football game in New Zealand history and is worth $7 million to the Wellington economy.

This means that the shops could score more from the All Whites than they do from the All Blacks.

"We probably will do, yeah," says Phil Gorman from RYOS Sportswear. "The problem we have now is just due to the demand we've had on the shirts, we've virtually sold out."
