Wellington breaks record with 100 metre sundae

Wellington High School students have broken a record for the world's longest ice cream sundae.

The 100 metre long sundae dwarfs the previous record of 47 metres.

Five staff and more than 50 students assembled the sundae this morning, with the help of local youth organisation Zeal.

It comprised 400 litres of ice cream, 400 Fair Trade Bananas, and mountains of whipped cream and chocolate sauce.
