Waitangi bridge closed to cars

Waitangi Day organisers have diverted all vehicle traffic from the Waitangi River bridge half an hour earlier than planned.

Waitangi National Trust CEO Jeanette Richardson says the influx of visitors on foot has prompted organisers to bring the car diversion forward, to ensure pedestrian safety.
