Fire investigators are to examine the remains of a fire that ripped though an abandoned Wairarapa school.

The alarm was raised at about 9.15pm on Friday, at Lansdowne School in Masterton.

Fire crews from Masterton and Carterton fought the flames for more than two hours.

The school was closed in 2003 after a government review.

Last night's fire is the third at the school buildings in the past two months.
