One of the three "dome busters" that sabotaged the Waihopai spy base in 2008 made a moderate apology today.
Adrian Leason was one of three men to break into the spy base near Blenheim in April 2008.
He joined a group of peace activists in Blenheim today, who took their message to Waihopai spy base.
Leason, a self-proclaimed "dome buster", showed a small degree of remorse, but no regret.
"I am saying sorry for inconvenience," said Leason.
"Absolutley no regrets. The three of us are of one mind."
Along with Leason, Dominican Friar Peter Murnane and farmer Sam Land were tried in 2008 for breaking into the spy base and deflating the protective dome over a satelite dish.
They were charged with using slashers to deflate the dome but all three men were acquitted by a jury after using the 'claim of right' defence.
Their celebrations were short lived when the Crown was awarded the right to sue the men for $1.2 million in damages. All three will appeal the decision in March.
The Government Communications Security Bureau operates in the Waihopai Valley, where it spies electronically on private communications.
The Green Party are calling for the facility to be closed down.
