Two men who fell about 20m from Lion Rock at Piha are airlifted by a Westpac rescue helicopter - Source: ONE News
Two men are fighting for their lives after falling about 20 metres from Lion Rock, Piha, west of Auckland.
Police were contacted at 12.20am and were advised three men had climbed Lion Rock, but that two, had fallen, landing on rocks below.
Police, fire, and ambulance staff attended, and the two men were transported to Auckland Hospital by the Westpac rescue helicopter.
The two men are aged 18 and 31 and both have head, chest and limb fractures, they are described as being critical.
Police are investigating why the men were on Lion Rock in the
middle of the night.
