Two men will appear in court in central Hawke's Bay on Tuesday to face charges after a man was shot while duck shooting earlier this month.

A 22-year-old was shot in the face while shooting with friends on a rural property just out of Waipukurau.

The man has permanent loss of vision in his right eye.

Two men, aged 21 and 22 have been charged with careless use of a firearm causing injury.
