Twenty-year-old motorcyclist killed in collision

Police have released the name of a 20-year-old motorcyclist, killed in a collision with a van in Northland.

Aaron Nigel Rudkin was pronounced dead at the scene on Jellicoe Road in Ruawai shortly after 6pm last night.

He had crashed into the back of the van as it was turning into a service station.

Police said he was not wearing a safety helmet and speed is believed to have been a factor in the collision.
