Police have cordoned off the area outside the house of boxer David Tua's parents in Mangere.

Tua won the much-hyped Fight of the Century against Shane Cameron in a second round knockout at Mystery Creek in Hamilton late on Saturday night.

The victory has prompted jubilant celebrations at his parents' home in Mangere with reports that around 200 people are at the house and swarming into the street.

Local police have put a cordon in place on Robertson Road near Koru School with traffic diverted along Gadsby and Wakefield Roads.

ONE News understands the crowd is well-behaved and the cordon is to help with traffic flow.
