A combined memorial service for the Pacific tsunami victims organised by Auckland's Samoan community was held at the Waitakere Trust Stadium in west Auckland.
The tsunami, which struck on the morning of 29 September, had a devastating impact, with tragic loss of life and injury to more than 190 Samoans, New Zealanders and Australians.
Reverend Asora Amosa says they thought of having two services but there were difficulties in arranging that.
He says the service was organised by the Samoan community and dedicated to everyone who lost their loves on that tragic day.
