Half a dozen school kids have had the chance of a lifetime to train with the world's most famous footballer at Auckland's Mount Smart stadium on Friday.
David Beckham and his LA Galaxy side trained at Mount Smart Stadium, and they included a group of selected kids in 20 minutes of warm up drills.
Another 6,000 envious fellow students watched from the stands, squealing and chanting with Becks' every touch of the ball.
Teaa Tawhi from Oranga Primary School was amongst the chosen pupils, and says Beckham was very complimentary of his skills.
He says the experience made him want to become a better soccer player.
Children from 130 schools across the Auckland region were at the Galaxy's practice, and also for the Oceania session that followed.
The Galaxy trained for about 75 minutes, and Beckham stayed on afterwards signing autographs as he was mobbed by fans near the team bus.
Meanwhile, the expected hype is not living up to expectations during Beckham's second visit to New Zealand.
The Auckland Regional Council is now offering an extra free ticket to anyone who has already purchased a ticket for the match, in an attempt to boost sluggish sales.
ARC Parks General Manager Lance Vervoort says 15,000 tickets have been sold so far and another 19,000 need to be sold to break even.
Wellington Stadium was a full house when the Galaxy played the Phoenix in Beckham's first visit to New Zealand.
