Two young German tourists working in New Zealand have been seriously hurt in a road crash in the Cromwell Gorge.
The pair, who are 19 and 20-years-old, were air lifted to Dunedin Hospital last night after their car rolled on State Highway 8 between Cromwell and Alexandra.
One is in critical condition in intensive care while the other is in the high dependency ward.
Their car was the only vehicle involved in the crash. Police said speed was not a factor in the incident are trying to determine whether alcohol was involved.
