UK TV show Top Gear is coming to New Zealand to film an item on the making of the Hulme supercar.
Managing Director of Hulme Supercars, Jock Freemantle, says the Hulme story will give viewers an insight into the design and creation process of a supercar, which aims to compete with the likes of Pagani and Bugatti.
He says Top Gear will also be working with the Hulme Supercars test team on a long term basis to evaluate and advise any changes they believe would ensure the Hulme is both "a superb Supercar and ultimate driving experience".
However, Freemantle is concerned the project may leave the shores of New Zealand and be snapped up by overseas investors.
"The Supercar has generated huge interest abroad, but our intention is to ensure that the company remains 100% New Zealand owned.
"Kiwis are renowned for our ingenuity and spirit but too often we lose out to global corporations taking our ideas and shifting the production out of the country. Let's keep the jobs and the dreams alive here in New Zealand." he says.
