The head of the Police Prosecution Service has been forced to step aside.
Superintendent Graham Thomas has been in the spotlight after reports he refused to undergo a breath test, after being confronted at his home by officers following up reports he had been drink-driving.
Police Commissioner Howard Broad says he's decided it's in the best interests of Police for Thomas to step aside from his role as Manager of the Prosecution Service.
He says Thomas agrees and has expressed regret the effect his behaviour has had on the organisation and his colleagues.
Thomas will remain in the force at the rank of Superintendent, working in the criminal justice area.
