Cat lovers from around the country are putting their best paw forward as they face off at the ASB Show Grounds in Auckland, showcasing every kitty from mankoons to sphynx.
An international judge at the national cat show is so impressed by the standards of our breeding that she thinks we should be exporting.
"I think that other countries could benefit from the quality of these cats here," says Heather Roberts, international judge.
There are 300 felines on display at the show grounds and the breeders are being praised for their years of hard work.
"They've made a conscious decision of which cats to pair together to make their kittens and which ones are the best," says Roberts.
From great big balls of fluff to the some which lack a bit in the fur department, it's a love that kiwi breeders can now be confident sharing on an international stage.
"New Zealand cat breeders should certainly take heart that we're breeding along the right lines," says Debbie Chesterfield, New Zealand judge.
