I have huge sympathy for our police dealing in difficult communities such as this. We need to remember that liqour outlet such as this are the root cause of a lot of problems. Central politicians who provide the legislation which allow the drongos in local government the ability to approve the parasitical sale of alcohol in poor communities are the real villians. Police should be commended for their efforts in cleaning this systemic mess up.

Come on people yes the police did take too long to react to allow medical aid for Mr Singh, and yes I agree that when joining the Police force they know the high risk factor and they take this on in full force but they also must take into account the safety factor for not just their own lives but others as well. When faced with a life threatening situation like this I wonder if the critics would agree with their own comments....My heartfelt condolences go to the Singh family

I disagree with Slothy. As a medically trained person I feel there is no excuse for leaving that man unattended for the length of time that he was. People enter the police force knowing the risks and surely their priority is people's lives, in particular a victim lying on the ground shot. This obviously wasn't the case in this incident.

ERV - Emergency response Vehicle or ARV Armed Response Vehicle surely would take care of such situations. Cordon contain will work 9 times out of 10 but at some stage someone has to go in and that 'some stage' may be immediate, the Police oath is to 'Protect life....'. What will occur in the case of an Active Shooter?
