Three men have been charged with a number of offences, including wounding with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm after a man was stabbed early this morning in Opotiki.
Two of the men are 16 and one 22.
Police were called to a party after a fight broke out.
"The victim suffered a number of stab wounds to his back and lower body and is currently being treated for these injuries in Whakatane Hospital," said Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Standen.
"His condition does not appear to be life threatening at this stage," he said.
"We are continuing our inquiries into this incident and have a number of people still to talk to," he added.
