Palmerston North police have arrested a 13-year-old boy for allegedly stabbing a man at the weekend.
On Sunday, a group of youths knocked Richard Sargent, 22, to the ground in the Square in the city centre.
The Pahiatua man was stabbed twice in the abdomen and once in the leg.
He was discharged from hospital on Tuesday.
The boy was arrested on Wednesday and would be dealt with by Child Youth and Family, the Manawatu Standard has reported.
Police are still looking for at least two other offenders.
