A 17-year-old man has been arrested following the aggravated robbery of a Rotorua grocery store.
An employee at Jaram's Superette was threatened by a masked man with a handgun about 11.45am on Wednesday, Rotorua Senior Sergeant Mick Lander said.
The man took an "undisclosed amount of cash" before fleeing on foot.
"An intense and extensive initial response from police resulted in a 17-year-old Rotorua male being located at an address nearby," Lander said.
Money was found at the scene.
The man will appear in Rotorua District Court on Thursday charged with aggravated robbery.
