A controversial Kiwi music video has been released depicting a stabbing to death that provoked debate throughout the country.
South Auckland hip hop group Smashproof is behind the dvd which re-enacts a teenage tagger being killed by businessman Bruce Emery.
The catchy beat plays over a video showing the final moments of Cameron's life.
The single Brother is under fire for depicting the tagging case which captured nationwide attention and has left Emery awaiting sentence for manslaughter.
"There's a reason why he did it, but we don't know. The whole thing that we're trying to say is why is it happening," says Deach Faafou.
Sid Diamond says when they were little they were doing the same thing, tagging.
"It's sad that someone had to lose their life over tagging, and he's only a teenager, 15 years old, he's still growing up," says Diamond.
Smashproof say the video showcases what it's like living in South Auckland, and the violence they say they are surrounded by.
"Can't get killed for nothing really. Consequences for your actions shouldn't be that," Faafou says.
Cameron's mother says while the clip made her cry, she feels she is not the only one with unanswered questions.
"It's quite a lot of them that think the same. Why did he run after them, why did he chase after them," Leanne Cameron asks.
Emery's lawyer believes the video highlights a landmark New Zealand case but says there are problems with it.
"In one of its lyrics where it says you know the life was taken because he tagged. I mean it's really not as simplistic as that," Chris Comeskey says.
Smashproof say they want the song to let New Zealanders see the problems in their backyard.
