The SPCA looks set to announce the charges it will laying against the men that slaughtered 33 dogs in Wellsford in late January.

The dogs were allegedly killed at the request of owner Rowan Hargreaves.

The SPCA determined many of the dogs suffered considerable pain and distress during their execution.

It is considering laying charges of willful cruelty, regardless of whether permission was given to kill the dogs.

Questions over the exact nature of the charges and just who to lay them against are being put to their lawyer John Haigh QC on Friday.
