Social networking website likes Bebo, My Space and Facebook are nothing new, but now there's a new social platform created in New Zealand called No.
It may have a website base but it's one of the few that encourages people to get away from a computer.
Hundreds of people went on a No field trip to Motihue Island in
Auckland's Hauraki Gulf on Saturday to plant trees.
Hadleigh Averill, the founder of No says the plan is to plant
10,000 native trees.
It was the latest day trip for an underground group called Nickolai Organisation.
We call it the No because you are either in the no or you are not. So the no it is, says Averill.
Effectively it's an entertainment and social networking platform that provides social benefits for it's members and the general public. But it's all done under the guise of a cinematic spy world experience.
In layman's terms, No is a club doing nice things in our community like Lions or Rotary except it's for people who may find Lions or Rotary a little slow.
"I am normally the youngest in the tree planting groups and now I am the oldest so it's quite cool, says Gail Batten.
They meet through a website and all have code names such as Agent Dark Wing and Danger Danger.
Once a member, they get missions like transport sing-alongs and recruitment drives.
Saturday's mission was to plant a forest.
No now has 4000 members and funding from a liquor company. For Averill it's a full-time job.
"It makes me very happy. It's nice, he says.
Until Saturday, No was kind of secret. Not any more.
