The demolition derby is continuing at Kaikohe Speedway on Sunday despite the death of a driver at the track on Saturday.
Club official Debbie Beadle has blamed driver error for the death of Samantha Mouat.
The 15-year-old's mini stock car slammed into a wall at the club's Easter Stampede & Demolition Derby, as family members watched her take part in a race.
She suffered head, chest and abdominal injuries and died before ambulance officers arrived.
No one else was injured in the crash.
The speed racing fraternity is stunned at the death of the teenager.
The venue is licensed by the Circle Track Racing Association, which has launched an investigation.
A spokesman says the death has come as a shock, and he feels for the girl's family.
He says the accident is a tragedy and a stark reminder speed racing carries implicit risk, with drivers going on the track knowing accidents can happen.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating and the Department of Labour has also been called in.
The Department is deciding whether to launch a formal investigation into safety at the track. A spokesman says they are looking into whether there has been a breach of the Health and Safety Act.
