Family to farewell beloved grandfather

The family of a grandfather who died after an alleged road-rage attack will gather for a traditional Hindu funeral at an Auckland cemetery today.

Family and friends of 78-year-old father-of-two and grandfather-of-five Jasmatbhai Pancha Patel will get congregate at Waikumete Cemetery, Glen Eden.

Patel died on Thursday at Auckland City Hospital

Bio O'Brien, 27, has been remanded in police custody to appear in the Auckland District Court on April 27. He is charged with assault but may face more serious charges.
