Search and rescue staff kept busy over weekend

Search and rescue staff in the lower North Island have been unusually busy on Sunday with four rescues.

A man is in hospital after being rescued from a capsized fishing boat off Napier . The 15 foot runabout he was on ran into trouble close to Westshore beach.

There has been another incident on the Manawatu River in Palmerston North. It is understood a helicopter has rescued a swimmer in that area.

A jetski accident on Lake Ferry near Wellington saw another person airlifted to hospital.
