Road reopens after crash in Taranaki

Mokau Road on State Highway 3 in Taranaki has reopened after a car crashed through a fence this morning.

Eight people were injured when their car hit black ice and rolled off the road.

The Fire Service and Police were called just before 7am.

A rescue helicopter airlifted two of the injured passengers to New Plymouth Base Hospital.

No serious injuries have been reported.
