A teenager charged with the murder of Radio New Zealand journalist Phillip Cottrell has been remanded for two weeks to make an application for bail.
Nicho Waipuka, 19, had been expected to make an application for electronic bail today, however his lawyer Paul Paino told Wellington District Court judge Denys Barry a report was not yet ready.
Waipuka is jointly charged with Manuel Robinson, 17, with killing Cottrell, a Radio New Zealand bulletins editor.
He was attacked after leaving work on December 10, last year, in Boulcott St and was found by a taxi driver.
He died the next day in hospital.
Judge Barry remanded Waipuka back into custody.
Man sought
Meanwhile, police have released an image of a man they want to talk to in relation to the case.
Police say a man handed in Cottrell's credit card to a staff member at Trax Bar after finding it at Wellington Railway Station.
Dean Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Miller said the man is in no way connected to the investigation except for finding Cottrell's credit card, but that police still want to talk to him to help with enquiries.
"A wallet was also found at the railway station, as a result of a police search," said Miller.
"Again, despite a number of enquiries, we haven't been able to determine whether this wallet in fact belonged to Mr Cottrell," said Miller.
Police also want to hear from anyone who thinks the wallet may
be theirs.
