Rain set to replace settled conditions

Published: 3:29PM Monday September 24, 2012 Source: ONE News

The settled weather that has brought sun and clear skies to much of the country over the last week is set to be replaced by rain.

A trough is expected to slowly travel across the country this week, bringing rain to much of the country.

MetService is forecasting rain across western parts of the South Island during Tuesday before spreading to Nelson, Coromandel and Bay of Plenty on Wednesday.

Aucklanders can expect an entire week of cloud and rain from Wednesday.

Later in the week, drier weather is expected over southern and central parts of the country as a ridge of high pressure moves in.
