Have you been affected by the radiographer and lab tech industrial action? ONE News would like to hear from you - email news@tvnz.co.nz
Health officials are warning Aucklanders to expect more delays and stoppages at two of the country's biggest hospitals.
A pay dispute with radiographers has cut services at Middlemore Hospital this weekend and it's Auckland Hospital's turn next weekend.
That's on top of action by lab technicians.
Hospital bosses are planning for a worst case scenario.
That could cancel surgery for up to 500 patients per week if there's a full-cale strike.
For months, about 1,000 medical radiation technologists (MRTs), or radiographers, from District Health Boards across the country have been involved in low-level industrial action, such as refusing to answer phone calls or move patients, over a lack of progress in pay talks.
However, the decision to strike came after four radiographers employed by Counties Manukau DHB were suspended on Monday. Another three MRTs were suspended from Auckland DHB on Tuesday.
As of September 7, radiographers nationwide will take strike action.
