An employment lawyer is encouraging bosses to push ahead with workplace drug testing, despite a recent case that rebounded against a company.
Paul Tremewan says companies should not be scared of introducing random drug testing to keep their workplaces safe.
He also advocates pre-employment testing.
He says a recent case at Talley's, where a drug search on board a deep sea fishing vessel discovered workers using P, only failed because of procedural issues in the way the company handled the issue.
Tremewan says employers have an over-riding obligation to have a safe workplace.
