The Justice Minister represents New Zealand on Tuesday at the United Nations' Human Rights Committee in New York.
Simon Power expects to face a range of questions while presenting our fifth periodic report under the International covenant on civil and political rights.
Power says New Zealand has a proud history of leadership on human rights, but he expects to be asked about the use of tasers by police, about how the Bill of Rights operates in this country and why there is an over-representation of Maori in our prisons.
Power will be on the podium for two sessions - one on Tuesday and another Wednesday.
