Police are appealing for help in finding a teenager who disappeared with her aunt in November last year.

American Samoan, Anamarie "Maureen" Saupo, 14, was last seen by her family on November 24 when she left the Panorama Rd, Mt Wellington, home she had been living in. Police say she was with her aunt, Kalala Saupo, 27, who also has not been in contact with her family.

Sergeant Matthew Smith from the Newmarket police says it is important police contact Anamarie, more commonly known as Maureen.

"While we don't doubt her aunt's ability to care for her, we need to be able to reassure ourselves and her wider family of her safety and wellbeing," Smith says.

"We'd like Maureen, her aunt Kalala or anyone who knows where they are to contact police as soon as possible."

Smith says anyone with information can call him on 09 529 5657 or the confidential Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.
