Police search for missing man in Auckland harbour

A police diving team is joining the search for a man last seen jumping into the water in downtown Auckland.

Police say the man removed his shoes and shirt before jumping into the water from the eastern side of Princes Wharf around 5am this morning.

He was last seen swimming under the wharf.

The man is described as Caucasian, approximately 186cm tall, medium build, with long frizzy hair.

The Police National Dive Squad is assisting with the search.
