Police search for missing hunter in Waimana

A search continues tonight for a 42-year-old hunter missing in the Waimana area.

Police and volunteers are seraching the popular hunting area, located 27 kilometers south of Whakatane, after the man failed to return by 8pm last night.

Police sergeant Craig Thorne said one of the missing man's hunting companions raised the alarm with local residents today.
