Christchurch police have named a man allegedly murdered in the Christchurch suburb of St Albans early this morning.
Police found the body of 48-year-old Guy Christian Scollay inside the house on Edgeware Road around 3am.
A 44-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with murder and will appear in the Christchurch District Court tomorrow.
Detective Inspector Virginia Le Bas says police believe the incident was family violence-related, and no-one else is being sought in connection with the death.
Police say a weapon, believed to have been used in the incident, has been found at the scene.
A forensic examination at the address will continuing this evening and tomorrow.
The body was removed from the house this afternoon and a post-mortem examination will be conducted tomorrow.
