Police name Chch fire victim

Police have named the man who died in a house fire in Christchurch as Albert Barry Waterman. 

Detective Senior Sergeant David Harvey says the death of the 63-year-old is not being treated as suspicious.

Christchurch chief fire officer Dan Coward says the Fire Service was called just after 4pm Tuesday to the bedsit in Fitzgerald Avenue.

Firefighters told by neighbours someone was inside went into the Linwood house and found a man's body.
