Police haul pair from car at gunpoint

Eyewitnesses have told how armed police dragged two people out of a car in central Wellington this afternoon.

Police cordoned off The Terrace from Ghuznee St to Salamanca Rd.

Police have not confirmed details but said the Armed Offenders Squad was attending an incident where a firearm may be involved.

Eyewitnesses have told ONE News that police swarmed after police dogs found a car near the Gordon Harris art shop.

The two people who were in the car were dragged out with guns at their heads and arrested, witnesses said.
