Police find hit and run car

Police say they have located the car they were searching for in relation to a hit and run crash on Auckland's North Shore.

A 25-year old man was hit last night on Glenfield Road and is in hospital in a stable condition.

Police were earlier today searching for a blue Ford Falcon and say they have now located the vehicle of interest and are talking to the owner.

Witnesses say the pedestrian was knocked down by a navy blue SR6 saloon.

The investigation is on-going and police are not able to comment on possible charges.

The matter is being investigated by the Waitemata Serious Crash Unit.
