A group of Paraparaumu ducks are back in the wild after being rescued from their poisoned pond last month.

A contractor accidentally spilled wood stain into their pond while he was staining a kiosk.

The Wellington SPCA took in the ducks and helped them recover.

Now, after three weeks in rehab, all eight are alive and kicking in their new watering hole on a lifestyle block near Otaki.

The ducks are a hit with children and are all expected to be given names.
