Families are being advised to plan time apart as well as together this Christmas.
Relationship Services national practice manager Cary Hayward says at this time of year there is a lot of organising to do and it can be stressful.
He says often people feel the pressure of family relationships they have been avoiding during the year. He says planning time together and time alone to get some space is a good idea.
Hayward says people should remember the true meaning of Christmas and not get caught up in expectations of what it should be.
