Person killed after hit by train

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a passenger train in Wellington just before 5pm.

All Kapiti services have stopped, with buses being used to transport passengers.

The train was travelling south, towards the cit,y and the incident occurred at a level crossing at Collins Ave in Tawa.

Police are talking to witnesses.
