A couple who allegedly left their five children locked in a casino car park while they gambled have been charged.
The children were found locked in a van in Auckland's SkyCity complex in February, and were taken into care.
Their parents have now been charged with leaving their children unattended and will appear in court on May 15.
SkyCity said in February that there have been seven cases of children being left in its carparks in the past year, but descirbed the alleged incident as the worst of its kind in the 16 years it has been operating in Auckland.
Surveillance footage of the carpark was said to show the children had been left for 45 minutes before being found.
