Packing on a grand scale has been underway in South Auckland to bring Christmas cheer to families in need.

Hundreds of volunteers turned out to sort, seal and stack food parcels.

It's like a Santa's workshop for families in need, a hive of well organised activity brimming with Christmas cheer.

The feeling is fostered by Christmas Box volunteers like Marshall Gray who has packed Life Centre Trust boxes from humble beginnings five years ago.
