Although the true impact of Cyclone Tomas is still surfacing, there are no serious concerns for the safety of New Zealanders in Fiji.
There are 480 New Zealanders registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade as being in Fiji.
Major tourist areas were largely unaffected by the cyclone, but MFAT is working through contacting resorts in affected areas and liaising with family members back home to get everyone accounted for.
